WELL-TRAVELLED roads once again led to Angus for vintage vehicle enthusiasts from across the country at the weekend.
Regular buyers from as far afield as the south of England were among the decent crowd at the Glamis base of Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Club and with around 95% of the extensive catalogue of lots sold, the mood of both buyers and sellers was as bright as the Angus weather was.
The hammer came down at £2,600 on a low-mileage, restored 1960 Morris Minor, which has found a new home in Kirriemuir after spending its life in Forfar.
A four-inch scale model traction engine and rare toy grey Fergie tractorfailed to meet their reserve, as did a restored Austin 10 van from Fife.
But there was keen interest in stationary enginesfrom the collection of late Kirrie enthusiast Thomas Bennet, with Angus buyersthe successful bidders.
Club secretary Stephen Dear said: “It was another successful event and it is good to see things stayinglocally, with many of them certain to be on show at our annual Transport Extravaganza at Glamis Castle.”
