The Aldi supermarket chain has unveiled plans that could bring up to 30 jobs to Cowdenbeath.
Aldi has confirmed that it intends to open a new store on the site of the former police station on Stenhouse Street.
The German company has submitted a planning application with Fife Council with the store potentially opening within 12 months if approval is given.
With the proposals now in the hands of the local authority, councillors will make a decision on whether or not to give the store the go-ahead within months.
The Stenhouse Street site has been vacant after local police officers relocated to Brunton House on Cowdenbeath’s High Street two years ago.
