Police officers in Fife are appealing for witnesses after a break-in at a pub in Cowdenbeath over the weekend.
Thieves entered the Silver Birch on Broad Street sometime between midnight on Sunday and Monday morning. They made off with a quantity of cash, alcohol and electrical equipment.
Detective Constable Daniel Peoples said: “This has been a high-value theft and I would appeal for anybody who was in and around Broad Street at that time and saw anything suspicious, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact Police Scotland.
“Any information received will be treated with confidence. Fortunately crimes of this kind in the Cowdenbeath area are rare.
“However the Silver Birch pub is a popular social venue and the incident will have a big impact on the local community.”
Anyone with information on the break-in can contact Police Scotland on 101 or, alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
