Two Perth curry houses have been nominated for national awards.
Aladdin’s, on West Mains Avenue, and Tabla, on South Street, have been shortlisted in the 7th annual Scottish Curry Awards.
The establishments were among more than 9,000 nominees and are up for the title of takeaway of the year (north-east) and restaurant of the year(north-east) respectively.
The awards will be announced at a ceremony in the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow, on the evening of April 28.
Ahead of the final, judges will visit restaurants and takeaways across Scotland to decide which make the best curry in the country.
Yasmin Mahmood, the operations director for event organisers Oceanic Consulting, said: “The awards have grown from strength to strength every year, as we see an increase of nominations for those hidden gems as well as the more well-known curry houses.
“All the finalists are truly deserving and we wish everyone the best of luck.”
The awards will also help raise funds for the official charity partner, the Well Foundation, which aims to raise money to build wells, install hand pumps and establish health and sanitation programmes to provide accessible, clean water in stricken regions of the world.
