Kirkcaldy restaurant still closed after immigration incident at weekend
ByThe Courier Reporter
A restaurant in Kirkcaldy has remained closed, after a weekend visit by immigration officials.
Three Home Office vans marked Immigration Enforcement pulled up outside the premises of Namaste Gurkha on Saturday afternoon.
A witness told The Courier that diners were asked to leave the premises as officials spoke to staff.
The restaurant, which is on High Street, was then closed. The Courier visited the premises on Sunday morning and Monday afternoon, although on both occasions the premises remained locked with nobody inside.
Exterior lights at the restaurant did remain on, however.
The Courier had also approached the Home Office for a comment on Saturday’s activity, but it had not responded at the time of going to press.
