An Alyth man rubbed a white pudding in his partner’s face during an argument.
Ian Campbell admitted assaulting Jacqueline Coyle with the deep-fried delicacy on Rattray’s South Street on April 11 during his appearance at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday.
He also admitted punching her on the face and body, wrestling her to the ground and kicking her on her body to her injury.
On the same date at an address in Glenalmond Place, Rattray, he resisted arrest. Jim Eodonable, depute fiscal, told the court the 34-year-old had gone out to the takeaway with Ms Coyle.
He said: “They had gone out to the fish and chip shop, this would have been about 10.30pm. The complainer and the accused began to argue. The accused took a white pudding and rubbed it in her face. He then punched her.”
Defence solicitor Billy Somerville told the court that Campbell has previous convictions for assault but they were all some years ago.
Sheriff Michael Fletcher deferred sentence on Campbell, of Bank Street, Alyth, for reports.
