Firefighters were called out to Monifieth on Monday night to tackle a fire in some bushes near to the railway line. The fire was reported at 8.55pm and one appliance was sent to the blaze off Riverside Drive. Crews used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and left the area was safe just 15 minutes later at 9.10pm. A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the fire wasn’t close enough to disrupt travel on the railway line.
