A senior sales manager caught with cocaine at T in the Park claimed he found the class A drug in a wallet at the festival.
Blair Whiteside, 41, was fined £120 at Perth Sheriff Court on Thursday, after he admitted being in possession of cocaine at the festival site at Balado, near Kinross, on July 14 last year.
Whiteside, from Methil, admitted having around £40-worth of the drug when he was searched by security.
Defence solicitor Pauline Cullerton told the court: “Mr Whiteside had been attending the T in the Park festival. He had found a wallet, looked in it, but didn’t know what to do with it.
“The drugs were found within the wallet in his possession. He realises he should have binned the wallet and does accept the drugs were in his possession.
“It is his first time before a court and he is somewhat embarrassed.”
Whiteside is a territory account manager for Fife-based bicycle supply firm Fisher Outdoor Leisure.
