Tyre manufacturer Michelin is backing local athlete Gemma Neill in her bid for success at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer.
The company has helped the up-and-coming road cyclist by donating a range of high-performance road racing bike tyres and inner tubes for her to use in her training sessions.
Gemma, who is from Inverkeilor, is a hot prospect for the UK women’s road racing team and hopes to be selected for the games in July.
As a dedicated athlete Gemma has put a promising nursing career on hold to pursue her dreams of racing with the team.
Donald Mackenzie, factory personnel manager at Michelin Dundee, presented the bike tyres and inner tubes to Gemma.
He said: “It’s great to be able to help Gemma achieve her dream. We are backing her all the way and hope to see her compete at the Commonwealth Games.”
Gemma said: “I am so grateful to Michelin for this donation. I get through a lot of tubes and tyres so this donation has really helped me through my training.”
