TV presenter Kate Humble is asking Fifers to help her clean up a St Andrews beach.

The wildlife enthusiast will be at the West Sands on Saturday May 3 from 2pm in a bid to make it barefoot-friendly in time for summer.

Now in its seventh year, the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project will visit 14 locations on a coast-to-coast tour of the UK.

After collecting a Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project T-shirt and any necessary kit, volunteers will spend the afternoon collecting litter before being rewarded for their efforts with a glass of Barefoot Wine.

Kate Humble said: “Barefoot Wine will be hosting Beach Rescue Projects from May and we are urging local communities to get involved.

“We are extremely lucky to have such beautiful beaches in our country it’s only right we do what we can to create coastal communities that exist in harmony with nature.”
