A driver was forced to pull in after a bottle was thrown at their windscreen in a Dundee street on Saturday.
Their blue Hyundai was driving in Lower Pleasance about 3.10pm when the windscreen was struck by the bottle thrown from within a group of youths nearby.
A police spokesman said: “The occupants of the vehicle were left extremely distressed by this and pulled into a side street a short distance from where the incident happened.”
Maryfield ward councillor Craig Melville condemned the behaviour.
He said: “I certainly hope the driver of the vehicle and any passengers are OK. It’s absolutely shocking behaviour.
“I can’t actually comprehend how anyone would think about doing that, let alone throw the bottle. I would urge anyone with any information to pass it on to the police.
“There’s obviously no place for that sort of behaviour. It’s shocking, someone could have been seriously injured or even killed.”
Anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen anything relating to this incident should call police on 101.
