A Clackmannanshire youngster has enjoyed a full day back at school just a week after returning from pioneering cancer treatment in Germany.
Mackenzie Furniss, 10, recently completed a second cycle of antibody treatment to tackle her relapsed neuroblastoma, an extremely aggressive childhood cancer.
Mackenzie’s mum Kimberley said her daughter could not wait to get back to Craigbank Primary School in Sauchie to rejoin her friends.
Doctors have been encouraging brave Mackenzie to build up her weight, and Kimberley said: “We aimed for half a day and she came out of school, demanded a McDonald’s, and then went away back to school.”
