Cup final fever kicked off in Perth today as the first Scottish Cup final tickets went on sale.
St Johnstone season ticket holders became the first to secure a place at the Celtic Park clash with Dundee United on Saturday May 17.
Supporters of their Tayside rivals will have to wait until Monday for the chance to get their hands on briefs for the match.
Fans began to gather even before the McDiarmid Park box office opened at 9.30am and queues swiftly built up, despite the Perth drizzle.
Some Saints supporters took to social networking to bemoan the speed at which the queue was moving but no-one was leaving without having first secured a potential date with history.
Season ticket holders can continue to purchase tickets throughout the weekend in person from the McDiarmid Park ticket office, by calling 01738 455000 or by completing an application form on the www.perthstjohnstonefc.co.uk website.
Saints tickets will then go on general sale on Monday.
A spokesman for the club said: “Given the level of interest in this game, additional staff will be taking phone calls but a degree of patience will still be required, particularly in the initial stages of the sale.”
Dundee United’s sales to season ticket holders start on Monday, with general sales available from Thursday.
