Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a woman was attacked and robbed in Dundee early on Sunday morning.
The 26-year-old was approached by a man in Baffin Street at about 2.30am. They spoke and then walked together in the Albert Street area of the city.
They then went to the rear of an address in Park Avenue, where the man assaulted the woman, took some cash and ran off, leaving her with cuts and bruises to her head and cheek.
The suspect is described as in his 30s, five feet nine inches tall, of medium build. He wore a dark red hooded rain jacket with the hood up, denim jeans and white trainers.
A man in his mid-20s came to the woman’s assistance and even flagged a taxi down so she could attend at hospital. She declined but the silver Peugeot taxi did take her to nearby Dundonald Street.
Detectives want to speak to the man, who is described as five feet six inches tall and with dark hair, and the taxi driver as they may have seen something or someone useful to enquiries.
Anyone with information that can assist the investigation is being urged to call Police Scotland on 101, or speak to any officer.
Information can also be give anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
