SFA under pressure after football fans unite to support Scottish Cup final ticket appeal
ByGraeme Bletcher
Football fan power could crack the SFA after a Scottish Cup final ticket charity drive exploded.
Pressure is mounting on Scottish football’s governing body to issue more concession-rate tickets after supporters from across Scotland and even further afield raised more than £20,000 to subsidise the full-price Dundee United briefs set at £35.
The staggering sum was raised less than 24 hours after an online donations campaign was mounted, and has been helped by offline donations from the Federation of Dundee United Supporters Clubs and Dundee United themselves.
Contacted by The Courier on Friday, the SFA declined to comment on the fundraising drive from charity group United For All, but wouldn’t rule out issuing another round of the £10 concession tickets.
