Livingston v Raith Rovers: Murray chasing sixth-place finish

Raith Rovers can ensure there is no possibility of them being involved in the relegation play-offs by picking up a point against Livingston at the Energy Assets Arena today.

However, manager Grant Murray is after more than that by grabbing the win.

The Stark’s Park side sit three points clear and 11 goals better off than Cowdenbeath and rather than looking down the way Raith are looking up.

Murray said: “We still need to ensure that we dot the i’s and cross the t’s regarding the play-offs and hopefully we can do that with a good performance and result at Livingston.

“However, a win would take us above them in the table and that has to be our aim. That would take us up to sixth place, which is still disappointing compared to how well we started the season.

“It is still better than finishing seventh.

“Inconsistency has cost us in the second half of the season but this is a game we are capable of winning.”

Murray added: “Their manager John McGlynn is someone we know and respect well and he will be telling his players that if you can finish sixth finish there and not slip any further.”

Murray’s side have been hit with a hat-trick of suspensions with Reece Donaldson, Calum Elliot and Gordon Smith ruled out.

Dougie Hill returns after a ban but Kevin Moon is an injury doubt.

Livi bring the curtain down on their season without former Raith player Simon Mensing, who has a knee injury that will keep him out for several months.

Mike Mampuya, Ross Docherty, Kyle Wilkie and Andrew Barrowman are also injured.
