A mother and child were showered with broken glass when a stone smashed the window of their bus in Dundee.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened in Happyhillock Road at 10.15 on Saturday night, and are keen to trace a group of boys who were seen nearby.
The stone was thrown at the window while the bus was moving.
Sergeant Jamie Allen of Longhaugh Police Station said: “The implications of throwing any type of missile at a moving vehicle is very serious indeed, for anyone within that vehicle or anyone nearby for that matter.
“Those who get involved in this reckless behaviour may view it as a bit of harmless fun, but they should consider the potential consequences of their actions. In this incident a mother and child were showered in glass.
“Fortunately, neither were injured but the outcome could have been far worse.
“In appealing for witnesses, we are keen to trace a group of boys who were in the area at the time. One of the youths is described as being about eight or nine years old, four feet tall with very short blonde hair and at the time was wearing a burgundy-coloured tracksuit. Another boy was about 11 years old, five feet tall, with blonde hair and was wearing a grey hooded top.”
