Arbroath player-manager Paul Sheerin has started rebuilding his squad following relegation to League 2, with skipper Ross Chisholm heading the list of players going out of the Gayfield exit door.
Chisholm has been released at the end of his second spell at the Red Lichties and joins Johnny Lindsay and Lari Yao in not being offered terms for next season.
Chisholm helped the Gayfield side win the old Third Division in 2011 before a spell with Dundee.
Centre back Alex Keddie is also leaving after he secured employment offshore that would see him unavailable for large parts of the season.
Keddie joined the Lichties two years ago and has also played for Ross County and Dunfermline.
Ricky Little, David Banjo, Paul McManus and Kenny Deuchar have all been offered terms for next season, with Sheerin also re-signing as a player.
Sheerin said: “It is not part of the job that is enjoyable but it has to be done.
“Our preparations for next season start now as we cannot sit around and feel sorry for ourselves.
“Ross was our captain and part of the squad that won promotion and it is disappointing to lose him, but I am looking to build a team that will get more goals from midfield.”
