Riderz stunt team asking drivers to help children feel confident cycling to school

The Riderz cycling stunt team is urging drivers to look out for children cycling to school.
During a visit to Dundee the team backed the Give Me Cycle Space campaign, which is aiming to address parents’ concerns about letting their children on to the roads on their own.
Team leader Iain Withers said: “It’s a great opportunity to show kids just how much fun cycling is and to help get the message out to adults about Give Me Cycle Space too.”
The campaign is a joint effort by Cycling Scotland, regional transport partnership Tactran and the city council.
Cycling Scotland chief executive Ian Aitken said: “With so many children keen to use their bikes to get to school in Dundee, it is essential that we raise awareness among drivers of the need to give adequate space as much space as they would give a car to those travelling by bike.
“Following last year’s campaign, more than two-thirds of parents reported that they felt more confident about their children cycling to school.”
