A Perth man ran through the street shirtless and carrying a knife after an argument with an acquaintance, a court has heard.
Jayson Reaney, 30, ran off when he was seen by police at around 12.30am.
Depute fiscal John Malpass said: “Police officers were on mobile patrol when they observed the accused, bare-chested, running along the footpath, apparently under the influence of alcohol.
“They observed he was carrying a long, thin item with a reflective surface.
“He spotted the police and he ran off while they were getting out of their vehicle and was temporarily lost to sight.”
He added that Reaney did not have the knife in his possession when officers visited his home but it was discovered when the police retraced his steps.
Solicitor Linda Clark, defending, said Reaney had an argument with a friend of a friend and threw him out of the flat. Reaney then followed to ensure the acquaintance had left.
She said Reaney, of Amulree Court, Perth, regretted his actions.
At Perth Sheriff Court on Thursday, he admitted that on July 27 last year he was in possession of a knife on Perth’s Angus Court.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis deferred sentence on him for reports.
