Firefighters were called to Lansdowne Court in Lochee just after 4am on Sunday after a report that the doorway of an eleventh floor flat was ablaze. It was also reported that people were trapped inside the property. The firefighters raced to the scene but by the time they arrived the outbreak had been extinguished. One man at the scene was having difficulty breathing after inhaling smoke, and he was taken by ambulance to Ninewells as a precaution. He was not seriously injured and was later released. Police are treating the incident as a case of wilful fireraising and are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact them on the non-emergency number 101 or speak to any officer.
