Christian Nade leaving Dundee FC after title-winning heroics
ByNeil Robertson
Dundee have announced that Christian Nade will be leaving the club.
The former Hearts striker divided supporter opinion when he joined the Dark Blues in January after two years in the footballing wilderness.
However, the Frenchman eventually won over the fans and became a cult hero.
Nade was arguably Dundee’s star man as they clinched promotion in the final two games of the season at Alloa and then at Dens against Dumbarton.
The front man told Courier Sport that he would be keen to continue his career at Dens, saying: “Of course I would like to stay. I like being here, the coaches are very nice and the staff are perfect.”
However, it has now been confirmed that he will not be playing with the Dark Blues in the Premiership next season.
Dundee manager Paul Hartley has already begun reshaping his squad with the addition of front men Phil Roberts from Falkirk and Cowdenbeath’s Greg Stewart, who has signed a pre-contract with the Dark Blues.
Dundee have also announced that keeper John Gibson will be leaving the club.
