An attempted armed robber who targeted a Dundee newsagents is still being hunted by police, seven months later.
Detectives have now released CCTV images of a man who was seen in the Hilltown area shortly before the incident at nearby S&R Newsagents in October last year.
A man went into the newsagents at about 4.40pm on Wednesday, October 16 where he threatened a female member of staff with a knife and demanded cash.
However the woman refused to give him any money and called the police so he fled the scene empty handed.
Despite extensive enquiries in the time since, the person responsible has still to be identified and officers are renewing their appeal for witness information.
As part of their enquiries, they are keen to identify the man who was captured on CCTV as it is possible he may be able to assist with enquiries.
Police hope members of the public will be able to identify him from the images or that the man may hand himself in for questioning.
The man police would like to trace is described as being in his late teens to early 20s, five feet eight inches to six feet tall, of medium build, with unkempt blonde hair.
At the time he wore a dark green or khaki hooded top or jacket, blue jeans and white trainers.
Police Scotland would ask for this man to come forward or anyone who knows who is to contact them on 101 or speak to any police officer.
Information can also be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
