Bright sunshine brought the crowds out to greet The Courier’s Independence Referendum Roadshow in Leven on Tuesday.
On the Yes side of the debate was Samantha Blake, 20, from Leven.
“I just think we will be better off,” she said. “I have been reading about childcare and things like that and that’s what made me decide.”
However, Agnes Chisholm from Denbeath was a firm No.
“If we had had the vote before Maggie Thatcher then I think we would have made it, but I am definitely voting no we will never be able to stand on our own feet.”
Also for No was Campbell Hoggan from East Wemyss, who said: “We are British, it says so on our passports, so why would we change that?”
Joyce Anderson was still to make up her mind but will be voting in September.
“They are not telling us about all sorts of things, like currency and pensions and how we are going to defend ourselves, and I want to hear the facts about that first,” she said.
The blue skies may have turned to a violent thunderstorm by the time the roadshow hit Methilhill in the afternoon, but things were looking brighter for Yes.
A full 77% of the people who took part in our fun ping-pong ball vote dropped theirs in the Yes tube, compared to 23% supporting No.
