Man faces jail after pleading guilty to dealing drugs in Angus

Another link has been removed from the Angus drugs chain after a man admitted having nearly £8,000 worth of heroin.
Sheriff Gregor Murray warned Charles Gardiner that he faces a “substantial” custodial sentence after remanding the 30-year-old for the preparations of reports after his guilty plea to a drugs supply indictment.
Gardiner was caught at his home on Arbroath’s Noran Avenue as part of Operation Trillium, a February blitz on dealers which is one of a series of raids mounted by police across the district.
Depute fiscal Jim Eodanable said a drugs warrant was executed at the home repeat offender Gardiner shared with his mother after police received a tip-off that he was involved in dealing heroin.
“There was recovery of a variety of items, including two sets of scales, a mobile phone and a quantity of diamorphine which ultimately would have a value not exceeding £7,840,” he said.
Defence solicitor Billy Rennie said Gardiner was currently the subject of a Community Payback Order imposed in respect of supplying diazepam.
Sheriff Murray continued the case until June 12 for reports.
