Scotland under-17s have reached the semi-finals of the UEFA European Championship after battling back from behind to beat Switzerland 3-1.

The Swiss broke the deadlock after 19 minutes when Dimitri Oberlin got the reward for his side after some early pressure.

The goal sparked the Scots into life but they had to wait until the second half to level the score.

Dundee striker Craig Wighton drilled in off the post four minutes after the break.

Wighton was the architect of the Scots second goal when his cross found Ryan Hardie in the box who headed the ball across goal for defender Jake Sheppard to slide in and put Scotland in the lead.

Hardie put his side further into the lead eight minutes later when Aidan Nesbitt’s cross found the Rangers youngster in the box for him to head home.

Scotland survived a scare nine minutes from time when Oberlin was brought down in the box but Robby McGrorie saved the resulting penalty.
