A drink-driver who was caught with four empty wine bottles and a glass in her car has been ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work in the community.
Perth Sheriff Court heard on Wednesday that there was also a half-empty bottle of wine found on a nearby wall after Amanda McCabe, 43, of Simpson Square, Perth, was seen having an accident in which she damaged a roadside barrier.
Depute fiscal Chris Macintosh told the court: “This offence was discovered at 11.20am, when the accused was seen driving her vehicle by witnesses.
“They watched her having an accident which did not involve another vehicle, but did involve some roadside equipment.
“One witness asked if she wanted help but the accused walked away,” Mr Macintosh said.
“Police were notified and found the vehicle and damage to a roadside barrier.”
Defence solicitor Billy Sommerville said his client had alcohol issues but was taking steps to address this problem.
McCabe admitted driving with excess alcohol 128 mics on Crieff Road, Perth, on December 20 last year. The limit is 35.
She was also banned from driving for 36 months. The Crown accepted her not guilty plea to a charge of failing to stop and provide her details after crashing into the barrier.
