A detailed video has been released by Transport Scotland giving a driver’s view of how the new Queensferry Crossing will look once it is completed in 2016.
The dramatic visual clearly depicts the design of the new bridge and also offers an impression of the scale of traffic expected at either side of the crossing once it is operational.
The release of the video follows the delivery of the first of the 28,000 tonnes of steel required to build the crossing.
A 250m boat shipped 12 steel deck sections, each one weighing 250 tonnes, from China following a six-week journey.
The sections were created in a “super-factory” in Shanghai.

Transport Minister Keith Brown said the delivery marked “a significant milestone” for the construction of the crossing, which is running on time and to budget.
A further 120 steel deck sections are required to build the Queensferry Crossing, which is expected to open towards the end of 2016.
