Dundee City Council chief executive David Dorward to step down

Dundee City Council chief executive David Dorward has announced that he is to step down.
Mr Dorward, who has recently turned 60, will have served as chief executive of the city council for just over five years when he retires.
He is stepping down in November.
He said: “I feel privileged to have served in local government for over forty years and especially as chief executive at Dundee City Council.
“There is no doubt that the last few years have been challenging, but the regeneration of Dundee is continuing apace and there are tremendous opportunities emerging for the future.
“Councillors and local authority staff are dedicated to delivering services for people and helping to improve our communities. I would like thank them all for their commitment and their efforts on behalf of the city.”
