Jimmy Nicholl has hailed the Championship as the dream league.

The Cowdenbeath manager admits his players cannot wait for the fixtures as the Blue Brazil get ready to do battle with Rangers, Hearts and Hibs.

Nicholl, whose side secured their Championship berth thanks to their play-off final win, revealed: “It really is a dream league to be in next season.

“We’ve got Rangers, Hearts and Hibs and I don’t think you could ask for a more interesting league. There are so many good teams in the Championship and every game is going to be so tough.

“It’s not the SPL but there are Rangers. Hearts and Hibs it’s going to be great. When you have a league like this to look forward to, it makes it so much easier for your players to come in to their club and get ready for work.

“The likes of our young full-back Dean Brett, who is a Hibs fanatic. For this kid to be running out at Easter Road will be amazing.

“It’s just so exciting and for our young lads it will be the first time they will have had the opportunity to play at Easter Road, Ibrox and Tynecastle.

“It will be brilliant when the fixture list comes out but it’s not the glamour of going to these places, it’s the challenge. There is going to be so much attention on this league, which will be fantastic.”

Cowdenbeath have been boosted by the news that midfielder Kyle Miller has agreed a new deal. Skipper John Armstrong, Thomas O’Brien, Chris Kane, Kenny Adamson, Lewis Milne and Dean Brett had already agreed new terms.
