For most, it was a case of dusting down the barbecue or rolling out the chiminea after a long winter. But one Riverside Ringo rattled a few sun worshippers when he found his own riff by taking a fulldrum kit along to Magdalen Green in Dundee. The sunny slope overlooking the Tay is a popular spot with students and other westenders in the summer. Their peaceful reverie was ruffled by the rat-tat-tat of the drummer who thought there was no better spot for some alfresco rehearsal. He eventually upped sticks and packed up his kit after his impromptu Friday performance. If he returns today, he will have competition. It is the opening Sunday of the season of brass band concerts at Magdalen Green bandstand. Unbeatable.
