Two of Fife’s leading politicians on either side of the referendum debate stressed the need to work together regardless of the result.
Cowdenbeath area chairman Willie Clarke is firmly in the Yes camp, while local Labour MSP Alex Rowley thinks we are Better Together.
But visiting the Courier Independence Referendum Roadshow in sunny Kelty on Monday, both said the important thing was to do as they had always done work together for the good of local people.
“People always have a difference of opinion, but that doesn’t mean we don’t talk to each other or listen. That’s the important bit we should listen,” said Mr Clarke.
“We’ve worked together over many years in the interests of our local communities why would we stop doing that now because of a difference of opinion for a way forward for Scotland?” added Mr Rowley.
In our informal poll, Kelty favoured No by 57% to 43%.
Brian Russell was No simply because “I am British members of my family have their names on that war memorial and they fought for Britain.”
James Davidson will vote Yes. He said: “I think we are rich enough to do it.”
