Arbroath High School pupils showed their “gruesomeness” by winning a national stage show competition at the Caird Hall in Dundee.
Maintaining their previous success in the Be Your Best Foundation Global Rock Challenge, the pupils won the Scottish competition for the second time in three years after being runners-up last year.
The third annual Scottish final saw the pupils fight off strong competition from schools in Dundee, Angus, Aberdeenshire, Perth and Kinross and the Highlands.
Arbroath High teacher and team producer Lorna Small said: “I’m more than delighted with their success. The Rock Challenge requires a lot of time from students, teachers and staff; requiring choreography, costumes, lighting and the performance itself.
“I couldn’t be more proud of them.”
Forfar Academy were second and Fraserburgh Academy came third.
Arbroath High also received special commendations for all the judged elements, including stage crew, choreography, set design, staging and visual enhancement, while they were awarded the dancer’s drama and performance skill by the judges.
