Police hunt after man attacks young boy in Dundee street

Police have issued an appeal after a man assaulted a young boy in the street in Dundee on Sunday.
Officers say they are trying to track down the man, after he was seen grabbing the boy by the neck before attacking him.
The distressing incident happened in Charleston Drive, close to Forth Crescent, at about 7.30pm.
A police spokesman said: “The male was seen to be seizing the child by the back of the neck and the child was heard to be shouting for help. The male was then seen to assault the child.
“The male is described as 30 to 40 years of age, scruffy and with curly short fair hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing cream coloured shorts and similar coloured t-shirt.
“The child was 7-8 years of age and was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and hooded top.”
Anyone with information that could identify the pair is asked to call 101 or speak to any police officer.
