A Glenrothes man who had a tumour removed from his head just six months after a quadruple bypass has praised the NHS.
Peter Bridges, 71, of Ralston Court, began his treatment at Glenwood surgery and had a quadruple bypass on November 30 at Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital. Last week he was successfully operated on to have his tumour removed and is recuperating at the Western General in Edinburgh.
He said: “I want to praise the work of NHS Fife and all the medical professionals who have helped me over the course of these treatments. I have been extremely well looked after, from my local surgery all the way through to my recent operation.”
NHS Fife director of nursing, Professor Scott McLean, said: “I am delighted Mr Bridges feels he has received a high standard of care from NHS Fife.
“Moreover, following the removal of his tumour, Mr Bridges has been recovering under the supervision of our NHS Lothian colleagues at the Western General in Edinburgh.
“This is a fantastic example of health boards working in partnership to ensure patients receive the highest possible standard of care.”
