Former Cowdenbeath favourite Kane Hemmings has joined English League One side Barnsley.
The 23-year-old scored 24 goals for the Blue Brazil last season and was highly sought after following his decision to leave Central Park, with a host of clubs including Dundee believed to be keen to sign him.
However, the striker, who has also played for Rangers, has decided to opt to ply his trade at Oakwell with the Tykes and has agreed a one-year deal.
After putting pen to paper on his new deal, Hemmings, who had a trial spell with MLS side Orlando City earlier this summer, said: “I want to hit the ground running, do well, continue what I did last season and score goals.
“I scored a couple of hat-tricks last season so if I can replicate that again I will be happy. I like to think I play well with another striker, I’m quick and can get behind defenders.
“Last season I had a great understanding on the pitch with the other striker and between us we were able to carve out a lot of chances.
“It was great to be nominated for the Scottish Championship Player of the Year award with the other players that were in the running and I was happy just to be in the mix, but to win it was quite an achievement for a Cowdenbeath player.”
