A man who was caught with £500 worth of cocaine he intended to supply at T in the Park has been jailed for 14 months at Perth Sheriff Court.
The court heard how John Anderson, 23, of Rosefield Street, Dundee, was spending a “significant” amount of money on drugs at the time of the offence but did not realise the “gravity” of his crime.
Depute fiscal Stuart Richardson said Anderson had been caught with the class A drug at the music festival.
Solicitor Ann Johnson, defending, said her client was working in Aberdeen around the time of the offence and was spending “quite a lot” of money on drugs.
“My client was nave about this and didn’t understand the gravity of this offence until he talked to me about it,” she said.
Sentencing Anderson on Wednesday, Sheriff Michael Fletcher said: “The court treats supply of drugs seriously, particularly class A drugs being taken into T in the Park. The only option is a custodial sentence.”
Anderson had admitted that on July 12 last year, at T in the Park, Balado, Kinross-shire, he was in possession of the class A drug cocaine with intent to supply.
