Man faces life in jail for murder of Fife teenager Hazel North
ByThe Courier Reporter
A man is facing life in jail after he admitted murdering a Fife teenager and burying her body in a park.
John Davis, 26, killed his girlfriend Hazel North at his flat in Kilmarnock in March.
The 19-year-old’s body was found in the town’s Dean Park three weeks after she was reported missing from her home in Dunfermline.
Her disappearance sparked a major police hunt and her family launched a Facebook campaign to try and find her.
The High Court in Glasgow heard the victim had an ‘on-off’ relationship with her killer, who was released from prison for assault shortly before the murder.
Davis will be sentenced on Wednesday.
