Paul Hartley says Dundee are out to entertain this season

Paul Hartley is determined his players will produce an exciting brand of football this season.

The Dens Park boss has made nine summer signings, with three or four still to follow.

Among the mosteye-catching have been the game-changing midfielders such as returning hero Gary Harkins.

Hartley, who flies out to Hungary today with his squad for a pre-season training camp, will make sure they have a licence to thrill the Dark Blues support.

He said: “Our midfield has to be flexible. We’ll give them the freedom to go and play.

“They’ll not be restricted to one position. They have to get on the ball and make things happen and be effective in the final third.

“Gary will play across there. He’ll be told the same as the rest of them get on the ball and enjoy it. We want to get on the ball and entertain this year.

“Gary Harkins, Paul McGowan and Simon Ferry we’ve got some good players.”
