Seven drinking establishments in Perthshire are participating in a major new digital initiative that promotes their unique Scottish story.
Scotland’s Pubs and Bars A Story to Tell is a partnership between the Scottish Licensed Trade Association, Diageo and Tennent’s and is supported by VisitScotland’s Growth Fund.
It promotes a positive image of Scottish pubs, highlighting their variety, quality and culture.
The Four Seasons Hotel in St Fillans, the Pretoria Bar in Crieff, the Bankfoot Inn, the Glovers Arms, the Twa Tams and Christie’s Bar in Perth are all featured on the free website and app, which uses 12 different themes including history, comedy and art to highlight their key strengths.
The £110,000 initiative has been match-funded with £55,000 from the VisitScotland Growth Fund.
The promotion includes the production of limited edition beer mats and T-shirts.
Jim Clarkson, regional director for VisitScotland, said: “The new guide is a great way for the local licensed trade to get involved in a tourism initiative.”
Chief executive of the Scottish Licensed Trade Association Paul Waterson said: “Each of the Perthshire establishments involved is a great example of the important role that our pubs and bars play in welcoming visitors to Scotland.”
