Generally, Coming Up prefers not to look back on a dubious and somewhat shady past, but casts forward to the great things yet to come.
But today, we find ourselves in strangely reflective mood, as all great things must come to an end.
For example, T in the Park won’t be in Kinross-shire again, moving as it is, to Strathallan next year.
Luckily, we had a top team on site all weekend to say bye-bye Balado including ace T debutant, Jenny Thomson.
She had a truly splendid time which included hula-hooping, swingball and cuddles and you can catch up with the last instalment of her experiences in Monday’s Courier.
We also say an emotional adeus to the World Cup with its Brazilian mix of brilliance and craziness. Was it truly the greatest ever? Will it be matched by Russia in four years or Qatar in eight? Will Paris Saint Germain find the receipt for David Luiz?
We will also soon be waving off the final fighter jets from Leuchars but the intriguing possibility of something even faster and sexier replacing them has been raised. Find out what in The Courier.
And we bid fond farewell for another year to the Scottish Transport Extravaganza at Glamis, the Bruce Festival in Dunfermline and the puffins from the Isle of May in the Forth of Firth.
And so, we see off this greatest of days in which we have put together a momentously magnificent edition of The Courier for your Monday amusement. Enjoy.
