A lucky pet was rescued by firefighters after a large-scale emergency turnout to a popular beauty spot on the Angus-Perthshire border.
The dog had been walking with its owners in the area of the Reekie Linn waterfall, near Lintrathen, when it is believed to have gone over the edge of the sharp gorge at about 4pm on Sunday.
With the incident treated as a rope-rescue situation, the call-out resulted in the turnout of three appliances from Perth, one each from Blairgowrie and Kirriemuir and a further three appliances from Kingsway.
The Glenisla response included two specialist rope teams and firefighters mounted a swift and successful operation to reunite the dog with its grateful owners.

The rescue concluded just after 6pm and it is thought the dog escaped unhurt from its ordeal.
The Reekie Linn is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and dog walkers, but the sheer drops at the edge of the scenic pathway can prove treacherous to both humans and animals, with dogs often caught out when running free or chasing rabbits.
