ByAndrew Argo
A woman has been rescued from her car after a crash in Dundee today.
The driver of the white Peugeot 3008 was trapped in the collision with a silver BMW saloon at the junction of Happyhillock Road and Longtown Street about 12 noon.
Rescue services rushed to the scene and fire and ambulance personnel eased the woman gently feet first on to a stretcher.
They carried her to a waiting ambulance which took her to Ninewells Hospital. She is not thought to be seriously hurt.
The female driver of the BMW was helped to another ambulance and taken to hospital. Again, she is thought to have escaped serious injury.
A female passenger in the BMW was unhurt.
The front of the Peugeot bore most of the impact and the front nearside section of the BMW was also damaged.
The junction is busier than normal because of the closure of Longtown Road due to roadworks.
Traffic was diverted down Longtown Street and on to Happyhillock Road.
The junction was closed for about an hour while the rescue services worked and the damaged vehicles were cleared from the scene.
