Firefighters and paramedics rushed to the city centre hotel after reports of a 19-year-old girl being stuck in the machine. The teenager was only able to be freed when firefighters smashed the glass of the dishwasher. She was then attended to by paramedics, before being taken to Ninewells Hospital. It was not known how serious the woman’s injuries were. A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said a crew from the Blackness Road station was called to the incident on Wednesday afternoon. She said: “We were called to attend the address at 1.26pm after a report that someone was stuck in a dishwasher. “One female casualty was released from the dishwasher and into the hands of a paramedic. “The team freed her by using a centre punch to break the glass and then the paramedics dealt with her from then on.”
