Traffic chaos during Tay Road Bridge closure

There was traffic chaos in Dundee city centre on Wednesday while the Tay Road Bridge was closed during an incident.

An alert on the bridge, which resulted in a man being pulled from the Tay by lifeboat crews, closed the bridge both ways from 11am for over an hour.

Vehicles were tailed back along Dock Street to beyond East Marketgait on the Dundee side.

A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: ”One male casualty was uplifted and taken to Ninewells Hospital.”
