A number of birds found dead along a stretch of Angus coast have been sent to a Scottish laboratory for analysis.
At least 17 seabirds were found below a breakwater in Arbroath, near Pleasureland amusements and Gayfield Park, on Sunday morning.
Andrew Foley, who organises specimen collections for the UK Government body Defra the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said it was likely a flock of geese were affected by recent storms and washed onshore.
He said: “We’ve been in contact with the local council at Arbroath, who have sent a man out and there are still at least some of the birds there.”
