Scottish Hydro customers on Mauchline Avenue and Mauchline Place in Mid Craigie lost power at 9am. Power was restored shortly before 1pm. Tayside Fire and Rescue was called after smoke was seen coming from an electrical junction on Mauchline Avenue. A spokeswoman for Scottish Hydro said engineers remained on site “for some time”. She added: “We can confirm that we received reports of a fault in one of our electricity boxes this morning at about 9am. “Our engineers attended to make the area safe and isolate the electricity supply. “I would like to apologise to customers who were affected by the fault.”
