Caroline Gordon (65) passed away at home on Saturday, having succumbed to lung cancer. Mrs Gordon worked at the Kirkcaldy hospital for 22 years, retiring in 2006. Born in South Africa, she trained as a nurse in Cape Town then as a midwife in Pietermaritzburg, in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. She married Ian in Durban in 1971 and the couple had three children, Philippa, Emma and James. They moved to Glenrothes and Mrs Gordon took up her role at Forth Park in 1984. A doting grandmother, Mrs Gordon was also a keen swimmer, knitter and baker.
