The roadworks in Perth’s Dunkeld Road have drawn criticism from Councillor Dave Doogan, following three months of traffic disruption.
The work, from Florence Place to Gowans Terrace, is part of a gas main replacement programme.
“It is, of course, good news to see this investment in our gas supply infrastructure but my concern is for residents, businesses and commuters on the Dunkeld Road, with the creeping nature of progress,” he said.
“This is one of Perth’s busiest thoroughfares with employment, retail, residential and school traffic all badly affected by this delay.
“The stretch outside Asda appears complete yet the contra-flow remains in place, which seems to indicate a lack of urgency on this project that is not shared by local people.”
Mr Doogan has contacted Scotia Gas Networks in an effort to get the work concluded.
