Claire Irvine (27), of Bonnygate, admitted to writing two letters after drinking excessively and taking drugs, between January 27 and 30 this year. The family had notified police upon discovery of the letters, who then opened them to find the threatening messages. In one of the notes, composed of silver lettering, Ms Irvine told the mother of the household: “I will get you soon, b****.” At Cupar Sheriff Court, Sheriff Charles Macnair sentenced Irvine, who appeared from custody, to four months in prison. He said: “In the circumstances there is no alternative but for a custodial sentence.”
